ARCHITECTURAL INTENTIONALITY

The murmur is great. There is a feeling of confinement here in the corridor with so many people. The doors open, we walk in, and the cramped feeling suddenly gives way to a feeling of grandeur. The eye immediately tries to take in the space, but fails due to the many small horizontal and vertical movements that the architecture performs. The swinging of the room also makes me swing. An excitement rises in me that great feelings are being captured here. I feel at ease. Even if my eyes sometimes search for a window and want to throw off this completely enveloping shell. The seats are comfortable, the rows are spacious. I lean back. When the lights dim and the murmuring stops, I get a slightly queasy feeling. But it only lasts a few moments, because then the lights on stage go on and the concert begins. All my senses are focused. The sounds gently bounce off the movements of the architecture and reach my ears from all sides. It makes a powerful impression on me. The room takes me with it.
